Whats's going on this week...6/8-6/9
Welcome back! On Thursday, I will allow students to ask questions about their Warm up and Weekly Essential packets and we will grade them in class on FRIDAY! What is the Title of this Picture? - Math puzzle - DUE Monday 5/8-5/11 Have a Happy Track Out! This week in math, we are working on our released test and we will finish this up and have an evaluation sheet to be sent home and signed by the parents. Over track-out: Students need to complete their Warm up packet and Weekly Essentials Packet. I will also be sending home an OPTIONAL extra practice packet with the answer key, students are more than welcome to take one and work them out at home. 4/24-5/5 I am so sorry about not posting last week, but here is a run-down about what we did... We finished up our last unit: One Variable Statistics, their project was due on Friday and on Monday students took each other quizzes. We then reviewed the unit for their test on Wednesday. On Thursday we Reviewed Math 8 Curriculum and Friday they started their Math 8 Released Test. This week: Students are finishing up their Math 8 Released Test and on Wednesday we will review Math 1 Curriculum and Start the Math 1 Released Test. (These released tests give a very accurate idea of what students know and do not know going into their EOGs and EOC- rememeber the EOC counts as 20% of their final grade!!!!!) Heads Up: Track out work is their warm up packet and Weekly essential packet, I talked with the students and they said they would rather have the quiz after track out than before track out, but they should be done before track out... but should be is not always what happens. 4/17-4/21 This week students will be given back their Solving Quadratic Functions quiz and their Solving Quadratics test. Students will also be given a unit project for 1 variable statistics (please check google classroom for instructions). Due: Test Corrections (Friday) Vocab Project (Friday all parts!!!! Presentation day is FRIDAY!) Heads Up: Over track out students will need to finish their Warm Up packets to be turned in the week we return. One Variable Statistics Test 4/26 8th Grade Released Test 4/28 Math 1 Released Test 5/4 No Tutoring 5/11 Track Out 5/12 4/10-4/13 This week we are finishing up our unit on Quadratic Functions. Students will be taking a test either on Wednesday or Thursday, this week. Don't forget about keeping up with the weekly essentials and the warm ups! Catapult will be due on Monday. 4/3-4/7 This week we are continuing with our unit on Quadratic Functions, I would like to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT FOR YOUR STUDENTS on their POLYNOMIAL TEST!!!! Students did a great job on the test last week and I am very impressed with the scores that they EARNED! I was VERY IMPRESSED by the amount of hard work and dedication that your children had for doing well on their test! Due: Catapult Project (Friday) 3/27-4/1 We do have school on Saturday 4/1. This week we are working with Polynomials. Reviewing how to add, subtract, multiply, and name polynomials, as well as learning how to factor quadratic trinomials. Students were given Warm Up packet for Quarter 4 and Weeks 25-30 Weekly Essentials on Monday,. Due dates for both packets are yet to be determined. Students are responsible for making sure their weekly work is completed and keeping up with their packets. If one of these packets are lost, then they can use 15 PBIS tickets to get a new one. Due: - Q3 Weeks 7-9 Warm-ups as a minor grade (Packet) (Friday) - Mixed review packet of polynomials (Day of test: Thursday) - Test corrections for the previous test (Day of test) - See previous week for details. - Test (Thursday) 3/20-3-24 This week we are continuing working with polynomials and strengthening our skills with integers and fractions. Due: - Donald Duck Mathmagic Land video sheet (Monday in class) - This video is about math appears in nature, architecture, and in various games that we play. - No W. E. Heads Up: - Warm up packets for weeks 7-9 will be due FRIDAY, NEXT WEEK - Students will be given back a test to correct, if they got below a 70% for a section, they may do test corrections, for a 70% in that section. The new grade in that section will be reflected in the final grade (For example: If a student received a 50% in the naming polynomial section, and a 90% in the add/sub/multiply polynomial section for a combine grade of 74%, then they may do test corrections in the naming polynomial section and receive a final grade of 86%) 3/13-3/17 This week we are finishing up our catapult project and we will be starting to work with quadratic functions, starting to factor and working with polynomials. Due: - W.E. #24 - Catapult Project (Thursday) - Quadratic Functions Matching HW (Wednesday) 3/6-3/10 This week we are working on Quadratic Equations as a project, where on Friday students will be making their own catapults and making calculations based on their data. Due: - W.E. #23 (Friday) - Catapult Packet (Friday) |
